My interview with John Valby

John Valby got his start in Buffalo, NY at a place called the Showboat. While playing there one weekend he threw in three mildly dirty songs among a number of rock-and-roll and original tunes. When he returned the next week the Showboat was packed with people wanting to hear just the three songs. (you see he was created BY his audience NOT FOR them).

John gets most of his ideas from the news, and comes up with new material and songs while on the road between shows. While he and Ron (the guy who sells tapes CD's and T-shirts at the shows) are going to the next show they go over ideas in the car, if they think it's funny they try it out at the next show, if it works they keep it.

John used to give out recordings at shows for free in order to promote himself- Too bad he doesn't do it any more huh?
